How to arrive to IST

By air:
On arrival at Lisbon airport, you can take a taxi either to your hotel or to IST. The ride should take no more than 15 minutes.
There are two taxi stands within the perimeter of the airport, one at arrivals and another at departures. We advise you to take a taxi at the departures stand.
The fare on the taxi meter should read 2,50€ (daytime pick-up). Outside the city limits, city fares are charged per kilometer (0,42€ / km). 1,60€ is charged for the transportation of luggage or animals.
Before taking a taxi, inquire about the fare(1).
You can get more info and purchase a Taxi Voucher at the Tourism Information Counter in the airport's Arrivals Hall.
(1) An additional 20% is charged for services on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and for night time service from 9pm to 6am.

Note that there is no subway station at the airport.

You may also try the Lisbon bus system. One option is bus 22, from the Airport to Av. Rovisco Pais, right in front of the Mathematics Department of IST.

By train:
If arriving by train, it is preferable to get off at "Gare do Oriente" (instead of the central train station at "Santa Apolónia"). From "Gare do Oriente" one can either take a taxi or the red subway line from "Oriente" to "Alameda".
